NJFCC Citation

The New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs has established the policy of awarding public recognition to individuals who have made major contributions to the advancement of the art and science of photography in the State.  This award is identified as the NJFCC Citation and it is the highest individual honor bestowed by the Federation.

A candidate must be proposed by a member of a Federation Club and endorsed by a second member.  The proposer and endorser need not belong to the same club but must have knowledge of the candidate’s contribution(s).  Proposer and Endorser Forms, along with instructions for their completion, may be obtained by email from Honors Chairman John Sandstedt.  His email is below.  Completed forms must be returned to John by February 15th.

If the proposal is accepted by the Honors Committee, the NJFCC Citation will be awarded at Photorama.

Gene Schramm

Gene willingly shares his love of photography and expertise with everyone and is well-qualified for NJFCC’s highest honor.

As a Founding Member of HUB (circa 1998), Gene devotes his efforts to achieving and retaining a vibrant camera club. In so doing, he researches new techniques, etc., and readily applies them where feasible, thus is able to answer just about any question asked.

Dave DesRochers

Dave is a former President of Camera Naturalists and the Cranford Millburn Camera Clubs. He is the current Publicity Chair and Webmaster for the CMCC.

He is an accomplished photographer, judge, lecturer, trip organizer and tireless champion of environmental issues.

Dave’s talent and passion for photography has positively impacted several organizations and many individuals over the years.

Your many years of devoted service to furthering the art of Photography in New Jersey, by teaching, lecturing and judging at both local and statewide competitions.

Bill Ruppel


This award was presented in recognition of Bill's myriad of activities pursued over the years in the advancement of the art of photography, including:

  • Top-notch teaching skills apparent in your supervision of workshops, field trips, and extensive presentations on photographic techniques;

  • Judging at a multitude of New Jersey camera clubs; as well as

  • Many years of dedicated service on the Executive Board of three New Jersey photography clubs: HUB Camera Club, Essex County Nature Photographers, and Camera Naturalist.



Jerry Fornarotto


This award is presented in recognition of Jerry's many rolls in the New Jersey camera-club scene, including:

  • Past president of Tri-County Camera Club, president of Ridgewood Camera Club, as well as serving as NJFCC representative for both clubs

  • Three years on the NJFCC Citation Committee

  • A PSA representative for the NY/NJ area, a task for which Bill holds the record of having sponsored the most new members

  • Donating time and photographic skills repeatedly in the assistance of an elementary school in Newark.
